A classical concert series for survivors of abuse and trauma was founded by Georgina Whitehead in 2012. Inner Child Concerts have been featured by NAPAC (National Association of People Abused In Childhood) and The Survivors Trust.
The Inner Child Concert Concept
The Inner Child is within everyone but it can often become lost or misplaced as we grow older.
Resurrecting the Inner Child can bring great benefits particularly to those who may have lost sight of their Inner Child due to circumstances out of their control.
This can be a host of circumstances which often involve significant traumas experienced at a young age. This could be violence, physical, sexual or emotional abuse including rape, sexual abuse and incest survivors.
A trauma can occur at any stage of our lives which affects our perception of ourselves thereafter. Often a sense of who we are or were is gone. The Inner Child concert is to help reclaim that part of ourselves that may be missing through no fault of our own.
The Inner Child Concert is for survivors of all types of abuse and trauma. It is to attract organisations, counsellors working in this particular field as well as those who may be affected by abuse and trauma as secondary victims, in addition to survivors themselves.
The concert is suitable for all ages.
Below are a few comments from the series. To see more please view the Responses page.
